Colton Keel

School Year: Freshman
Position: Forward
Height: 6'4
Hometown: Bourbon

Major:

School: Triton High School

“Colton represents work ethic. His blue collar effort has made him what he is today. He follows a great list of players who have done great things at Triton and have chosen to come to Bethel.

Colton is a proven winner, he is a great Bethel fit, and he comes from a great program. Coach Groves is doing a wonderful job with the Triton program.

I like his passing ability and he reminds me so much like Wes Laidig in his work ethic and his ability to get the basketball off the boards.

Colton has wonderful and supportive parents who have done a great job of raising him. We will enjoy coaching Colton Keel.” -Coach Lightfoot

At Triton High School

Colton played for Head Coach Jason Groves at Triton High School in Bourbon, Indiana. In three varsity seasons, the Trojans won 63 games and lost 13 with Colton.

During Colton’s tenure, the Trojans appeared in back-to-back state championship games in ‘08 and ‘09, taking the title over Indianapolis Lutheran in ‘08 and losing to Jac-Cen-Del in ‘09.

Colton averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds his senior year, earning All-Conference honors in the Northern States Conference. He was also named his team’s MVP and led them in rebounding.

In his junior year, while teaming up with current Pilot Jake Everett, Colton averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds and was named All-Conference in the NSC. Colton also led the Trojans in rebounding.

During their state championship run, Colton had not one, but two game-winning, buzzer-beating tip-ins: a win over Morgan Township in the first round of Regionals; and a win over Lafayette Central Catholic at Semi-State.

In his sophomore season, Colton averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds for the varsity Trojans, helping lead Triton to a 14-8 record.
